1. Snow tubing trip- Talked about the trip. At the meeting Daria mentioned a deal at Ski Roundtop for I believe $19 for three hours of snow tubing. We agreed that we would meet on Sunday January 22nd at 10:00 A.M. in front of the Ruby Tuesday’s restaurant at Lake Forest Mall. We also mentioned that Daria would ask her mother if she could book the snow tubing passes on her mother’s credit card; and in return Daria would need the money no later than January 19th. We also discussed who would be coming to the trip so we could see how many cars to take. The following people said that they would come:

2. Bowling- Mentioned that there was a bowling night on Friday night, January 13th at 7:00 P.M. At the meeting we concluded that the following people were going to go bowling:

   We had a great time bowling, except for the guards at the front gate. Daria was stopped because the guards stated that her name was not on the list, so they pulled her to the side area and made her wait for me to show up. Even when I showed up, they still insisted that her name was not on the list. However, once I spelled letter for letter how Daria’s name was spelled, the said, “oh, yeah her name is on the list.” After that we had a great time bowling.



3. Valentine’s Party/Dance- We mentioned at the meeting that we felt that to put together such a big dance party for multiple organizations, Daria and Mark felt that 4 or 5 weeks is not enough time to search for sponsors and put together a successful event. So we agreed that we would continue planning a Valentine’s dance party for next year, February 14th, 2007. As for THIS YEAR’S Valentine’s Day event, we mentioned that we would like to go to downtown Washington, D.C. The actual location we never came up with. Possible places included Adams Morgan, Georgetown, or true downtown D.C. Once Daria and I have decided on a place, we will let everybody know!!! Tune in for more details!
   
   
4. Ice Skating- Some people mentioned that they would like to ice skating. After reviewing all the dates that we have booked so far we decided that Saturday January 28th was the best time to go ice skating. We will go ice skating in Rockville, Maryland at the ARC ICE arena. That is located on Southlawn, which is off of Gude Drive) We will meet at the ARC ICE arena at 7:30 P.M. Please let us know if you are interested in attending this event!!!!



5. The Fun Bunch Fund- At the meeting we mentioned how at the December meeting, there was never a collection. At this month’s meeting we did a collection and here are the results:

   A total of $14.05 was collected and the Grand total is $86.05



6. Ladies night out- The ladies present at the meeting met and planned an event for Saturday February 11th. I am not sure of the exact event or site that the ladies will be going to, but I do know that they will be going to Baltimore. Maryland. Ladies, Please let Daria know if you are interested in attending this event.
    
7. Guys Night Out- The guys present at the meeting met and discussed when to have the next guys night out. We have tentatively set the next guys night out for Saturday February 11th. The plan for the guys is to meet at Mark’s condo at 6:00 P.M. and order some dinner and have a guy discussion. Then at either 8:00 or 9:00 P.M. go to Orange Billiards. The guys also discussed some ideas for future guys night out but did not set any dates or times. Will discuss that at a later time. As far as the guys night out on February 11th, Mark’s nephew’s birthday is on the 10th and I am not sure when the family celebration will take place. If there is conflict I will let the guys know and we will reschedule for another date.



8. John’s Announcement- John C. announced that he would be taking a leave of absence from the Fun Bunch due to his new job at Safeway. He felt that it was not fair to be working at Safeway long hours and not being able to be at every meeting and activity, so he is turning the “reins” over to Daria. So Daria is now our acting president!
   
   
9. NEW BUSINESS
   11) Seminars- Daria mentioned that she would like to know who would be interested in holding or attending seminars regarding issues pertaining to the learning disabled individual. We agreed that seminars would be held on a night separate from a Fun Bunch meeting night. Daria mentioned that the group could possibly purchase either books or a seminar kit and hold out own seminar in a comfortable setting, or have someone present a seminar. One of Daria’s ideas is for social skills and self-esteem-assertiveness.
   
   We then opened up the meeting to other ideas/topics that people would like to see discussed at possible seminars. The following are the results:
   Anger Management
   Dealing with stress
   Checkbook planning/money planning
   Time management
   Job skills
   How to get a job
   Family problems-how to deal with them
   Role playing
   
   Mark then mentioned that he had been in touch with his candidate, Doctor Jessie, for perhaps doing a seminar on self-esteem/social skills. Mark mentioned that the last time he had heard from Dr. Jessie was a few days prior to the meeting. Dr. Jessie had left a message with Mark saying that she was at home with a bad sinus infection and would call back when she returned to work. Mark also mentioned that he would like to speak with Dr. Jessie by himself first, and then after speaking with her, then invite her to come to a future Fun Bunch meeting and see how the members like Dr. Jessie. Mark also suggested that Daria invite her candidate to a future Fun Bunch meeting and see how Fun Bunch members like him. After both candidates have come to a Fun Bunch meeting, we will then see who the Fun Bunch likes better and then ask the favorite to come give a seminar on self-esteem/social skills to the Fun Bunch.
