Meeting Location: Mark's Condo

- Bowling
Mark forgot to call the National Naval Medical Center in regards to whether or not the group can still bowl at the bowling alley. Mark will call before the next meeting. Mark will also check into the Strike’s bowling alley in Bethesda.
- Dr. Jessie meetings
I am not sure what Daria meant to discuss with this item. I can only presume that she meant to ask group members what topics that they would like to discuss in the presence of Dr. Jessie.
- Holiday Party
We have agreed upon a date and a location for this year’s holiday party. We will be having a brunch at a restaurant, Jasper’s, in Germantown, Maryland. The cost of the brunch is $15 per person and is an all you can eat buffet. It has both breakfast and lunch items on its menu. We will also do the secret Santa gift exchange during the party.
- Secret Santa
For this year’s secret Santa, to participate in this year’s event, you must be present and also must have a wrapped gift with a value between $10 - $25. We will do the secret Santa gift exchange at the holiday party. We have not yet decided if we will do the secret Santa gift exchange before or after we eat. We can discuss this at next month’s meeting.
- Valentine’s Dance
We have agreed upon a date and a location for this event. It will take place on Saturday February 10th at the Dave & Buster’s at White Flint Mall. The time of the event has not yet been agreed upon.
- Winter Social Activities
We did not get this far on the agenda since Dr. Jessie arrived. We will discuss this matter at next month’s meeting.
- New Ideas

- Dr. Jessie
Dr. Jessie arrived and due to the low member turnout, we agreed that it would be worthwhile to discuss the planned topic, Holiday stress and being alone during the holidays. We will discuss the Holiday stress and being alone during the holidays at next month’s meeting.
Instead we discussed specifics of the Valentine’s Dance with Dr. Jessie. We discussed ways that we could sell tickets, how much we thought that the dance would cost to put on. Daria estimate was around $300 for a disc jockey, and at least another $700 - $800 more dollars to rent one of the party rooms and the cost of catered food. Daria would like to go over to Dave & Busters and check out the party room and to go talk with Dave & Busters about the cost of putting on such an event. Daria also wondered how much money that the Montgomery County, Learning Disabilities Association would be willing to give us.
If you would like to be part of the group that goes over and sees the party room and to talk financial figures with the Dave & Buster’s staff please let me know. One final thought, I asked Daria how much she estimates that the tickets to this event would cost assuming that the Montgomery County LDA would not give us any money, and Daria’s reply was between $20 and $25 per person. We also agreed that between now and New Year’s eve we would sell tickets for one price, and then Starting January 1st, 2007 until the dance charge $10 more per ticket as a way of encouraging more people to buy tickets early on.
