Meeting Times - Start: 7:05 pm - End: 9.05 pm
- Fun Bunch Holiday Brunch
Mark wanted to get everybody’s feeling on how the brunch went and how the brunch was.
The general consensus was that everybody loved the restaurant, Jasper’s and everybody loved the food at Jasper’s.
The only issue with Jasper’s was that most people at the brunch felt that they should have had all of the tables pushed together, and not 3 separate tables broken up.
It was brought up that perhaps they did not have enough room to have all the tables together, or perhaps there was some fire code that the restaurant had to follow.
Even so, the overall mood was that people would like to try and go back to Jasper’s again for a holiday brunch.
Another issue that was brought up, was that perhaps we can start a tradition of one year having a party at Mark’s condo’s community room
and then the following year have a holiday brunch at Jasper’s. That idea seemed to be well received.
Mark is waiting to see how everyone on the Fun Bunch feels about this.
- January Meeting
Mark informed the group that the group does not have use of the library for the January meeting.
It was agreed that everyone present at the meeting would be able to attend a meeting on January 10th, 2007.
As of this minute, the meeting on January 10th, is tentatively set to be held at Mark’s apartment.
- February Meeting
Mark informed the group that as of now, the group will have use of the library room on Valentine’s night, February 14th.
Mark asked the group if people want to have a meeting on Valentine’s night.
The consensus was to have a short meeting, about a 30 minute meeting, followed by doing something fun after a short meeting.
Mark then asked the group if they wanted to have the meeting at the library of elsewhere. The group seemed to want to have the meeting elsewhere.
The location of elsewhere, most people feel comfortable having the meeting at Mark’s apartment since everybody knows where that is, and have been there before.
HOWEVER, since Mark does not know what he is doing on Valentine’s night, the meeting location, currently set for Mark’s apartment is tentative.
Meaning that the meeting location is not yet set in concrete!!! As Valentine’s day nears, Mark will inform the group if his apartment will be available or not.
- Valentine’s Event
Mark asked the group if the group wanted to something fun on both Valentine’s night AND ALSO on Saturday February 17th.
The group’s reply was “YES”. At this moment the group does not yet know what exactly we will be doing on Saturday February 17th, but we will attempt to discuss this at the
January meeting. So mark your calendars for Saturday February 17th as a Fun Bunch Fun Night!
- Winter Social Activities
Mark reminded the group that at the previous meeting we had indicated which winter activities that we would like to do this coming winter.
The first activity talked about was snow tubing.
a) Snow Tubing - After some discussion we agreed that the group would go snow tubing on Sunday, January 21st.
The location of where we will snow tubing is yet to be determined, but it seems most likely that we will go snow tubing at Whitetail ski resort in Pennsylvania.
We will most likely meet up at Mark’s apartment at 9:00 a.m. and leave by 9:20 a.m. That means that we should arrive at Whitetail ski resort by 11:30 a.m. ;
we will be able to snowtube from at some point that afternoon. From my experience, snowtubing tickets are usually sold by two hour blocks.
That means the earliest that we would be able to snowtube if from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. We could also eat lunch someplace near the ski resort,
and then snowtube from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. We will have to discuss this at the January meeting.
b) Ice Skating - We discussed this and it was brought to my attention that the least busiest times at ARC ICE is on weekdays/weeknights.
The group agreed to try and go ice skating at ARC ICE sometime in January. Date to be determined.
c) Sledding/Snowball fight -Since there is currently no snow, and the temperatures have been so warm lately, we will have to plan these events on a last minute approach. Whenever, mother nature decides to “flip the switch” and stay cold and decides to snow, then if it snows enough, then we will most likely make phone calls and see if people, want to go sledding and/or snowball fight.
- Dr. Jessie - Holiday Stress
Dr. Jessie went around the room and asked everybody how they have been dealing with holiday stress.
The answers varied from not done much holiday stuff at all, to family has yet to indicate what they want for the holidays, to buying 6 gifts in 35 minutes, to noting how
tough it is dealing with retail job stress, to using special breathing techniques to relax one’s self.
- Goals
Dr. Jessie went around the room and asked everybody if they had thought about their personal goal(s) for 2007. The following are the goals that were mentioned:
a) Improving relations with sibling. Getting out of heated discussions
b) Career Counseling
c) Lose weight/get into shape
d) Search for a new significant other
Dr. Jessie talked each person through their goal(s) and talked people through how they can make some progress in their goal(s) by the next meeting on January 10th.
Also, individual members provided some helpful advice to each other. For those members that were not present from 8:00 – 9:00 at tonight’s meeting,
those people will be first to talk about their goal(s) followed by the members who have already given their goal(s) and what progress that they have made so far
in reaching their goal(s).
- FUTURE MEETING SCHEDULE
Wednesday January 10th, 2007 at Mark’s apartment. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
Dr. Jessie will attend from 8:00 – 9:00 to talk about individual goal(s) and also to talk about what the Fun Bunch’s group goal should be.
