Meeting Location: DAVIS LIBRARY
November 14, 2007

Members Present: Mark, Nina, Daria, Nathalie, Cathy, Mike, Lorin, Eric, John V., Susan H - (For The Second Hour) Lorin Eric John V. Nathalie Daria Cathy C. Mike B. Susan H. (For The Second Hour)

Meeting Times - Start: 7.15 pm - End: 8.10 pm

  1. Tracy K.:
Talked about Tracy, about that she has not been coming to Fun Bunch for some time, and the group was asked whether or not we should attempt to celebrate her birthday. A majority of the members present agreed to keep Tracy on the “active” Fun Bunch member list. However, the group also agreed not to attempt to celebrate her birthday.

  2. Proposed Fun Bunch Rule:
The group discussed the rule that was proposed and drafted at the October meeting, the “outsider Involvement” rule. Simply stated, the rule says “when a Fun Bunch member, or an inactive Fun Bunch member has a current serious grievance/issue, then that member shall deal with the Fun Bunch and not bring parents, guardians, significant others, etc. into the ordeal/situation AND the majority decision of the Fun Bunch will be final.” After rereading the proposed rule to the group, a vote was taken and all nine members who were present voted to accept the rule. Mark stated that he would send out an e-mail to those members who were not present at the meeting and get their vote before making the new rule official.

  3. Tom and Keri’s wedding celebration:
The group discussed when to celebrate, and the group was also told that Tom would be busy for the next two Saturday’s and the earliest that we could celebrate would be Saturday December 1st. At the meeting, we decided that perhaps we should wait to celebrate until sometime in January. After the meeting, Mark received an e-mail from Tom, stating that perhaps we could celebrate the weekend of December 14th/15th. What does the group think? With the holiday party on the 15th, is that too much? Shall we celebrate just before the holiday party? Or wait till January?

  4. December Holiday Party:
This year’s party will be at Greenfield’s Brazilian BBQ on Saturday December 15th at 7:00 p.m. Immediate Family members are welcome at this year’s party. The cost of the buffet, without beverages, will be around $24, and after tax and tip and beverages, the total will be closer to $30 per person. Greenfield’s is located near the intersection of Twinbrook Parkway and Rollins Avenue in Rockville, Maryland. Please rsvp with whom you will be bringing by December 7th.

  5. Holiday Lights:
Group was asked whether or not we want to see the Seneca Creek Park lights, as we have done for the last 3 or 4 years, OR if we wanted to go to Washington, D.C. to see the menorah and the National Christmas tree. After a discussion a majority of the members present voted to go to Washington, D.C. and see the menorah and the National Christmas tree. No date for the event was set.

  6. Nathalie’s Holiday Party:
Nathalie’s father wanted me to mention that Nathalie will be hosting her own holiday party at her apartment, opposite the parking garage at White Flint metro station, on Saturday December 8th from Noon until 4:00 p.m. Everything will be provided, just bring your holiday spirit and yourself. Nathalie’s father says that invitations should be arriving in the mail shortly. For a quick reference, Nathalie’s current address is: 5540 Marinelli Road North Bethesda, MD 2082-2514 Apt. 120.

  7. Tom and Martha’s Birthday Celebration:
Group spoke about when to celebrate their birthdays. It seemed to be that due to our real busy December schedule, the group agreed that we should wait to celebrate until January and have a joint December/January birthday celebration. More specifically we would be celebrating Tom’s, Martha’s, and Eric’s birthday in January.

  8. Fun Bunch Secret Santa Gift Exchange:
The group agreed that we do want to do a gift exchange again this year. The group also agreed that since the holiday party will be a large amount of people present, that it would make more sense to do the gift exchange at the December Fun Bunch meeting on December 12th. The agreed upon price range for gifts this year will be between $10 and $25. Please let either Daria or Mark know if you plan on participating in this year’s gift exchange.

  9. Next Fun Bunch Meeting:
The December meeting will take place on Wednesday December 12th, at the Davis Library in the “small” room. Do not forget that we will be doing the gift exchange at the meeting.

  10. Dr. Jessie & the Surprise Baby Shower:
Dr. Jessie called Mark’s cell phone, which was on all day, but was on vibrate, and she left a message that she was not feeling well and would not make the meeting. I am not sure what time she called, the best time frame that I can give is sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Various members pitched in and brought food and beverages, and each member donated money and a gift card, a stuffed bear, and a card were purchased to give to Dr. Jessie. The gifts for Dr. Jessie were given to Susan, and Susan will give the gifts to Dr. Jessie. For the second hour of the meeting everybody just enjoyed themselves to the food and beverages and talked amongst each other. Meeting was concluded around 8:45 p.m.

  11. Other Business:
The group mentioned how they would like to have a game night and/or a movie night in January.
