Meeting Times - Start: 7:35 pm - End: 9:25 pm

1. Cathy & Mike’s Shower
   
   Everybody was in consensus that the waiting for one hour at Houston’s restaurant “sucked”. However, everybody was also in consensus that when everybody was seated, that everybody seemed to have a good time, and really enjoyed the food. After eating, Cathy and Mike opened their gifts, and really enjoyed the gifts that they received.



2. March Birthday Celebration
   
   There seemed to be some confusion as to when we will celebrate the March birthdays. Initially we had agreed to celebrate the birthdays at the same time as the Saint Patrick’s Party. However, at the meeting we discovered that Cathy and Mike will not be present because Mike’s family is celebrating his birthday the same night and time as the Fun Bunch would be celebrating. I am not sure if John W. will be attending, Doreen is not coming to the party, and Carla is coming to the party. Carla was asked if she would like to have her birthday celebrated on Saturday or wait until April. She replied, “wait until April.” Then shortly after that, Carla seemed to change her mind. So, if I heard correct, I think that we were going to go ahead and still celebrate the March birthdays on Saturday regardless of which birthday people were present at the party. I am not sure if all of the birthday people are OK with this, but I believe that is what we agreed to last night.



3. Noi’s Visit
   
   Noi recently e-mailed me, and told me that she was coming to the area for a visit. She is coming to town for a college reunion, and I am not sure when the college reunion is. I have e-mailed Noi, and asked her to get back to me. After a discussion at the meeting, we agreed that depending on what Noi says, we will plan on going to her favorite place to eat; the Fortune Star buffet. We will go on either Friday night or Saturday night. I will wait and see what Noi says.



4. Fun Bunch Fund
   
   Daria mentioned how we have $86.03 in the Fund. She also stated how we should put money currently in the fund towards the dance. That is when I reminded the group that when we were doing the Fun Bunch fund, we set up as a means for people to make sure that they saved money for a nice big trip And not to be used for the dance.



5. Valentine’s Dance Party
   
   The dance will be held on February 14th, 2009 at the Casey Community Center. After discussing the Fun Bunch fund, we also discussed fundraising ideas to help get money for costs associated with the dance. The two ideas were: a carwash at a gas station and the other idea was to hold a fundraiser at Cici’s Pizza.



6. Membership Drive
   
   Daria mentioned some possible ideas to increase membership in the Fun Bunch. The first idea was to create a yahoo group, the second idea was to advertise on other meetup.com groups, the third idea was to post an ad on Craig’s List, and the fourth idea was to post flyers at public libraries, and the final idea was to invite members from the LD workplace group to join.



7. Spring Activities-Ideas
   
   The group discussed some ideas that we would like to try. They include going to this year’s Cherry Blosson parade, and maybe take a group picture with all the Cherry Blossom’s in the backround, and the other idea was to take a trip to Baltimore to the Inner Harbor. Perhaps have a crab feast. Eric volunteered to look up good places to have crab feasts in Baltimore.



8. Summer Activities-Ideas
   
   The group discussed the summer kick-off BBQ. I think that we are talking about having it on the same date, but the location has changed. Now we are considering having the BBQ at the Wheaton Regional Park. Other ideas that we had is to have a pool party at some point in the summer. Another idea is to go to an amusement park, and the final idea that was mentioned was to go to a Civil War reenactment in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in July.



9. Dr. Jessie
   
   Mark announced to the group that Dr. Jessie has indicated that she plans on returning to the Fun Bunch in time for the April meeting, April 9th. Mark asked the group what they would like to discuss with Dr. Jessie. After a discussion, it was decided that we would like to discuss/role play certain situations in which we portray certain members in order to help them improve themselves with various communication skills. We also agreed that we could mention to Dr. Jessie what the group’s goals were, as well as everybody’s individual goals. Finally, we agreed that we would set aside a few minutes so Dr. Jessie can tell us about her baby. This is what the group decided at the time of the conclusion of the meeting. HOWEVER, since it has taken me so long to type the minutes AND in light of the fact that Martha recently passed away, in regards to what topic we discuss with Dr. Jessie, I will leave it up to the group if they still want to discuss the agreed upon topics OR to discuss our feelings in regards to Martha. Please let me know how you feel on this matter.



10. Individual Goals
    
    Since Eric was not at last month’s meeting and Nina never told her individual goal, Eric and Nina told me their choices. Eric’s goal is to lose weight and to find a new job. Nina told us that she has no goal.



11. Next Meeting
    
    The next scheduled Fun Bunch meeting is Wednesday April 9th at 7:30 p.m. at the Strathmore Court Apartments, Community Room. See you at the meeting!
