Meeting Times - Start: 7:03 pm - End: 8:50 pm

1. New Member
   
   Mark mentioned that although not present at tonight’s meeting, that we the Fun Bunch have a new member, Nathalie Van Rossum. She hopes to be present at the June meeting.



2. March & May Birthday Celebration
   
   After some discussion the May birthday members decided to have the celebration at the Rockville location of Gordon Biersch. We agreed to meet on Saturday May 31st at 7:00 p.m. We will also celebrate Carla’s and John Wang’s birthday as well.



3. Summer kick-off BBQ
   
   The group decided to still go ahead as scheduled and have the BBQ on Friday May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. at Daria’s parents house, in Darnestown, Maryland. For this event family members are invited. During the meeting, we discussed who would be bringing what to the BBQ:
   
   Daria- Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, and Buns
   John Vere- Chips and dip
   John Wang- Dessert items
   Eric- Cole Slaw and Potato Salad
   Mark- Macaroni Salad/Veggie Tray
   Nathalie- Fruit Salad
   Walter- 2 Bags of Tostitos and Salsa
   Lorin- Undecided



4. June Birthday Celebration
   
   After discussion we agreed that we would have the June Birthday celebration on Saturday June 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Tyson’s Corner Olive Garden.



5. Exercise Group
   
   The group agreed that we will walk in Georgetown on the C&O canal on June 15th. We will meet at Mark’s condo at 11:00 a.m.



6. Possible Future Fun Bunch Social Activities
   
   The following is a list of possible future Fun Bunch social activities:
   
   • Pool party at Nina’s condo
   • Attending a Washington Redskins training camp practice in late July or early August
   • Going to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania battlefield for the day and then also stay for part of the night so we can do a ghost walk
   • Go the newly opened Newseum in Washington, D.C.



7. Trip to the Newseum
   
   We agreed that we will go to the newseum in Washington, D.C. on July 12th. The address of the newseum is 555 Pennsylvania Avenue. We can take the metro downtown.



8. Fun Bunch’s 9th Anniversary
   
   We discussed what we would like to do this year in order to commemorate the group’s 9th anniversary. The official anniversary will be on September 21st, 2008. After the discussion we decided that we would like to go to Columbia, Maryland and go to the Midieval Times restaurant/



9. Officers
   
   Daria appointed Lorin and Walter to the new “Trend Setters Committee”. There jobs will be to look up new places to go see and check out. Mark also stated that he would like to have an officers only meeting at a future date and time, June 7th at 5:00 p.m. at Walter’s condo. After the officer’s only meeting, we will go to the Olive Garden for the June Birthday celebration at 7:00 p.m.



10. Future Topics
    
    The group brainstormed a list of topics that the group would like to discuss throughout the year. The topics include;
    
    • Role playing to better meet people
    • Self Esteem
    • Conflict Resolution
    • Anger Management
    • Budgeting Issues
    • Career Building/Planning
    • Retirement Planning
    • Work Issues (How to best deal with sensitive issue)



11. Dr. Jessie
    
    Was not present as her baby has a cold and is having trouble sleeping.

    The next meeting will take place on June 11th at Mark’s condo at 7:00 p.m.
