Meeting Times - Start: 7.05 pm - End: 8.10 pm
- Dr. Jessie
The group was informed that Dr. Jessie had sent an e-mail to both Judy Lantz and to Mark. Dr. Jessie indicated in the e-mail that once again she was sick and that she is currently orverworked and felt that she can no longer be able to help the Fun Bunch due to her busy life schedule. She wanted to do the fair thing for both the Fun Bunch and for herself. She did indicate that she does know of a psychologist that used to be a teacher at the LAB school that might be able to take over for her, although she still needs to ask the person if she/he would be able to take over for her. Group members seemed to indicate that they wish that she would come to at least one more meeting so members would have an opportunity to say, “goodbye”. More details to follow.
- Possible New Members
The group was informed that within the past 3 weeks, we the Fun Bunch have received notice from a total of 4 people that they are interested in joining the Fun Bunch. They are: Thea Burgess; Marie Morey; Bobby ?; and Natalie Van Rossum’s friend Missy Tansing.
- Public Website Photos
The group was again notified that the LDAMC has redone their website and that Judy Lantz would like us, the Fun Bunch, to post a public group photo of the Fun Bunch on their website. Mark thought that since we will be posting a public photo on the new LDAMC website, that we should also post the same group photo on the Fun Bunch’s website too. Mark also stated that we would be using the group photo from the group’s 7th anniversary (taken in Baltimore) AND this year’s group photo. Mark wanted to make sure that all members were OK with posting a group photo that anybody in the world can see.
- Fun Bunch’s 9th Anniversary
The group had tentatively planned on celebrating the 9th anniversary at Dave N’ Buster’s at White Flint on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., but it was stated that we also had to celebrate the September birthday celebration too. The group was unsure what to do. The only thing that we could agree on was 3 OPTIONS. They are the following:
OPTION #1- Keep the Sunday event as is and only celebrate the group’s 9th anniversary.
OPTION #2- Cancel Sunday’s event & in turn combine the 9th anniversary with the September birthday celebration by perhaps bowling OR dancing on Saturday September 27th at around 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.
OPTION #3- Cancel Sunday’s event and in turn combine the 9th anniversary with the September birthday celebration by going to Dave N’ Buster’s OR CHATTER’S in Bethesda at 2:00 p.m. for lunch followed by watching the Redskins at Dallas football game on Sunday September 28th.
- September Birthday Celebration
See above (Item 4) for details on the birthday celebration.
- Gettysburg, Pennsylvania Day Trip
After some discussion it was decided that the group wanted to make this a day trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania on Saturday October 25th. We agreed that we would leave around 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. and arrive in Gettysburg around 11:30 a.m. or 12:30. We would then have a quick lunch in Gettysburg, followed by walking around the battlefield, which would then be followed by a nice sit down dinner someplace in Gettysburg, which would be followed by doing a ghost walk in Gettysburg. After the ghost walk we would then return back to Montgomery County, Maryland.
- Halloween Party
After discussing this, it was obvious that the group does indeed want to have a Halloween party this year.
The group agreed that it would be easiest to have the Halloween party
- October Meeting
Will be held at the Strathmore Court Apartment building’s community room. For those members who wish to park their car inside of the building, then you drive just past the front entrance to Nathalie’s building, and make a right onto Citadel Avenue. Just after you make that right, you make another right to enter the parking garage, but this is where you need the key/card from Nathalie. Perhaps we as a group need to agree on a time to all meet at this area and then have Nathalie key us into the garage. Then once inside, then Nathalie would need to ride down in the elevator and let us inside.
- December Holiday Party
Will take place at Mark’s condo,
on Saturday December 13th. The members in attendance at the meeting agreed that a 7:00 p.m. start time would work best. We will discuss the menu and menu assignments at a future meeting.
- Dry Erase Boards
Mark announced that back in August he had purchased 3 dry erase boards at the cost of $10 each; one for Mike, one for Bob, and one for himself, in order to easier communicate between each other. At the meeting it seemed like the idea was working nicely. Mark also asked if any other members would like to have a dry erase board. Nobody else in the group wanted a dry erase board.
- Valentine’s Party
Nathalie’s father has already reserved the Strathmore Court community room on Valentine’s night. Mark asked the group whether we still wanted to have a Valentine’s party. The group agreed that we should have a party. The tentative start time would be either 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. More details to follow.
- Officer Meeting
A member asked if we would be having an officer meeting anytime soon. After some discussion, it was agreed that we would have an officer meeting sometime in the next 3 or 4 weeks. We also agreed that when we have the officer meeting, that we would have an officer meeting on a Wednesday night. The following are some proposed dates: September 24th, October 1st, or October 8th. An e-mail will be sent trying to figure out when members would like to have an officer’s meeting.
- Next Meeting
Will be held on October 15th, at the Strathmore Court Apartment building’s community room. Meeting start time will be 7:00 p.m.
