Meeting Times - Start: 7.00 pm - End: 9.00 pm
- Valentine’s Party
This issue was discussed in regards to the number of people whom attended, the organization of the event. We will also plan on discussing this at next month’s meeting as well.
- Individual Goals/Group Goals
The members were asked whether or not they wanted to once again do goals. The answer was “yes” We only had enough time to discuss Individual goals. For those members that were present, here are their individual goal(s) they mentioned:
- Fundraisers
Coco indicated that she has spoken with Judy and Susan, and Coco informed the group that we the Fun Bunch are under the “umbrella” of the Montgomery County L.D.A. and therefore we are able to go ahead and have fundraisers.
- Mentoring
Coco mentioned how she knows some people at the LAB school in Washington, D.C. and she asked the group how we would feel about mentoring both children and adult students at the LAB school. Coco indicated that she still needs to look into this matter to get more details, about how much of a weekly commitment it would be, and how much of a monthly commitment it would be. The members that were present seemed to be OK with mentoring students from the LAB school.
- Movie Night
Coco also mentioned that she is looking into the possibility of having a movie night for both LAB schools students and for Fun Bunch members. The members present seemed to like this idea.
- Open Membership To Fun Bunch/Initiation Fee
Coco began the discussion of finding ways to bring income into the Fun Bunch in order to help offset the cost of party supplies at the various parties that we have throughout the year. Coco seemed to think that we could possibly start to charge an “initiation fee” OR an “annual fee” to help produce revenue. We will discuss this matter when there are more members present.
- Social Life Options
Mark asked whether or not we should continue to pursue looking into meet-up groups to help members whom do not have much of a social life. The consensus of the members present, was “yes”. As a reminder, the types of groups that the Fun Bunch is looking into is are hiking groups, movie groups, and dining out groups.
- Multi-Month Birthday Celebration
We stated that we will be celebrating this event on Saturday March 7th at 5:30 p.m. at the T.G.I.Friday’s restaurant in Rockville, Maryland located on Rockville Pike. We will be celebrating Tom Flood’s, Eric’s, John Wang’s, and Mike Burke’s birthdays at this event. Please let Mark know if you will be attending this event.
- Multi-Month Birthday Celebration –Part 2
This event will celebrate the members who have birthdays in the months of April, May, June, and July. The tentative place to have this event is at the Fortune Star Buffet in Rockville, Maryland. We have tentatively scheduled this event for sometime in June. I know that Bob Johnson has a birthday in April, John Vere, Steven DeVol, and Mark have birthdays in May, and Lorin, Nathalie, Nina, and Jason have birthdays in June, and as far as I can tell nobody has a birthday in July.
- Spring Events/Spring Ideas
Some ideas that the members present mentioned were going downtown to see the Cherry Blossoms, going to the Brookfield Garden, maybe attend a Nationals game.
- Next Meeting
The next meeting will take place at the Strathmore Court Apartment community room on Wednesday March 18th, 7:00 p.m. Hope to see you there.
