Meeting Location: Strathmore Court Apartments Community Room

Members Present: Mark, Lorin, Eric, Melissa, Carla, Cathy, Stephen, Walter, Coco
Meeting Start Time: 6:30pm; Meeting End Time: 8:30pm
- December Holiday Party:
Is currently scheduled for Saturday December 19th at the Cozy’s Restaurant located in Thurmont, Maryland. A reservation has been made for 5:30 p.m. The restaurant is willing to do separate checks for each individual. Each person can either order from the menu, OR you can do the buffet, which costs $16 per person. We should plan on meeting up at Mark’s condo around 4:00 p.m. I believe that we should be leaving the Cozy restaurant by around 8:00 p.m., which would mean we should be arriving back in Montgomery County sometime around 9:00 p.m. Due to the winter storm this event has had to be canceled. Possible make-up in early January???
- Holiday Lights:
We will meet at Mark’s condo at 7:00 p.m. We will plan on leaving Mark’s condo around 7:30 p.m. We will first depart for the Mormon Temple/Tabernacle. I assume that we will arrive at 8:00 p.m. We will plan on leaving the Mormon Temple/Tabernacle around 8:45 p.m. We will then depart for the Seneca Creek State Park lights. I assume that we will arrive around 9:10 p.m. The Seneca Creek State Park lights costs $14 per car. It usually takes between 30 to 45 minutes to drive through the entire lights display. Afterwards, we will depart for Mark’s condo, where everybody can go home. Due to the snow and the wetness that turned to ice, this event was canceled.
- Gift Exchange:
At the meeting, we voted on whether or not we wanted to do a gift exchange. The group voted in favor of doing the gift exchange. It was mentioned that for each person doing the gift exchange, to buy a gift, between $10 -$15, and wrap the gift. The group also decided to do the gift exchange during the holiday party on December 19th. Due to the winter storm, this event was also canceled. Possible make-up in early January???
- Discussion/Internal Issue:
The issue of whether or not to readmit a former Fun Bunch member back into the Fun Bunch will be discussed. Each member had an opportunity to comment on the matter and give his/her thoughts on the matter as well as the former Fun Bunch member. Due to the number of attendees at the meeting, and also the fact that there were some key members who were not present at the meeting, this matter will also be discussed during the January 20th Fun Bunch meeting.
- Fun Bunch Officer Positions/Roles:
At the end of last month’s meeting, Carla had mentioned how she no longer wanted to hold her officer position. We discussed the role her officer position was to have. Coco mentioned how the book that she had given to Carla a few months ago, may have seemed to be overwhelming. Mark emphasized to Carla that she did not have to plan something every single month, perhaps once every 3 or 4 months. Mark also emphasized to Carla that she should pick a topic that is true to her heart, or something that she would like to have discussed and to have fun with the topic. After this discussion, Carla agreed to keep her officer position.
- January/February Events:
We did not set any specific event with a specific date, rather we discussed dates that we could possibly hold any January/February event. The list of dates mentioned was:
January 2nd or January 3rd- Make-up for the canceled Holiday party/gift exchange???
January 9th
January 30th
February 6th
February 27th
One event that we mentioned that we most likely would celebrate in February is the latest round of monthly birthdays in the group (November, December, January, and February birthdays) Although we did not formally agree to an actual date or time, the date of February 6th was mentioned as a possible date to celebrate the next round of birthdays.
- OTHER:
It came to my attention that when I typed up the minutes to the November meeting, I forgot to mention that we had indeed discussed the matter of August Spector Meetings. We had decided that still wanted to go ahead and to have the meetings. It was also mentioned that perhaps we should change the night of the meetings and to also change the location of the meetings, to perhaps somebody’s apartment or house. August Spector has been e-mailed about those ideas, and so far there has been no reply from August Spector. When there is more information to report, I will notify the group.
- Next Meeting:
The next meeting will be held at the Strathmore Court Apartment Community Room on January 20th, 2010. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. If you drive to meetings, make sure to bring enough change for the parking meters, as the parking meters do not stop running until 7:00 p.m. HAPPY HOLIDAYS & HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!
