Meeting Start Time: 6:35pm; Meeting End Time: 8.30

  1. Review of minutes from April meeting:
    Carla passed out copies of the agenda. The first portion of the agenda included a recap of what was discussed at last month’s meeting. Among highlights of what was discussed at the April meeting is the following:

    Ideas- Walter thought that it would a nice idea to create a FUN BUNCH page on Facebook. There has been a date assigned to creating this page. See the April meeting minutes.

    Committees- There was a new committee formed, the telephone committee. At that time there were two volunteers, Walter and Stephen.


  2. Past Events:
    Among some of the past events were a trip to the Cheesecake Factory. Unfortunately, two members stayed at the Cheesecake Factory, and the remaining four members went to Dave N’ Busters at White Flint

    Telephone Committee Procedures:
    Carla created and listed procedures for the telephone committee to follow. Here is an abbreviated form of procedures:
    • Each volunteer calls 50% of total members in the group.
    • Provide an accurate count of members attending each Fun Bunch function
    • The information should be relayed from information that was obtained from the telephone committee volunteers through means of phone calls and e-mails, and that is followed by the telephone committee volunteers e-mailing to Carla, the president, the amount of members attending each function.
    • How long to wait for a reply from each member? This question was answered by Carla. She stated that there should be at least a week before calling or emailing again.
    • Carla has also designed a format for telephone committee volunteers to follow. For a complete list, please refer to the April minutes.
    • The telephone committee volunteers are to email Carla the totals of members attending each function two days prior to the event. This is so group can plan accordingly if there is to be food served at an event, and also as a courtesy to Carla, to allow her to know how many members to expect for each function.

    Eric’s Father’s Lake House Trip
    Eric informed the group that the group would be welcome to come down to his father’s house at Lake Anna, Virginia the weekend of June 20th. However, shortly after discussing the matter, it was discovered that that weekend was Father’s Day weekend. Eric said that he would get back to the group, with a new proposed date to go to Lake Anna, Virginia.


  3. Telephone Committee Discussion:
    At this point, Coco invited Stephen to discuss his feelings towards his handling of being a telephone committee volunteer for the group. The following is what was discussed:


  4. New Activities:
    Stephen was nice enough to provide to each member a thick, Xeroxed packet of walks that Washington, D.C. offers. Stephen handed the packets out, and members looked through the packet. One such walk that members seemed to be interested in maybe doing was the Haunted walk. Eric, earlier in the meeting, mentioned that the trip to his father’s Lake Anna, Virginia house was still on the table, but that he had to plan for a new date, as the proposed date he had provided was actually Father’s Day weekend. New Date to be determined. Look for details!

    Facebook Party- June 26th 2:00 p.m. Strathmore Court Apartment Community Room

    WISP RESORT- No date has been decided on. Carla provided a nice colorful newspaper clipping from the newspaper about WISP ski resort. If the group decides to attend, this event would take place in the summer season. Look for more details!

    The next meeting will take place on Wednesday June 16th at 6:30 p.m. at the Strathmore Court Apartment community room.
